Description of the course:
The course for the Diploma in Engineering shall extend over a period of three academic years, consiting of semesters, as detailed below:

The following courses of study are offered in this polytechnic college.
I. Three year full time diploma courses: (I Shift 8.00 am to 3.30 p.m.)
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electronics & Communication Engineering
- Instrumentation and Control Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Garment Technology
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering
II. Three year full time Diploma Courses (II SHIFT 11.00 noon to 6.30 p.m.)
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electronics & Communication Engineering
- Computer Engineering
- Garment Technology
Students Intake
Conditions for continuning the course
- Students who join I year Diploma Course (Full Time) will normally complete the course of study in 3 consecutive academic years without any break.
- Students who join II year Diploma Course (Lateral entry) will normally complete the course of study in 2 consecutive academic years without any break.
- students will not be prevented from proceeding to the next semester on account of their failing in the preceeding semester.

No age limit
Eligibility for the award of diploma
No candidate shall be eligible for the diploma unless he/she has undergone the prescribed course of study for a period of not less than 3 academic years in any institution affiliated to the state board of technical education and training, Tamilnadu when joined in first year and two years if joined under lateral entry scheme in the second year and 4 years if joined in the Ist year of a part time and passed the prescribed examination.
The minimum and maximum period for completion of diploma courses
Procedure for transfer from the institution to other institution for students
- Students can apply for transfer to other institution at the end of the even semesters only. (That is at the end of every academic year only).
- They are eligible for transfer to Govt. polytechnic colleges only.
- Ist students are eligible for transfer to other institutions in the Ist shift only. And likewise for the IIst shift students also.
